9 February 2012 - Managing REACH: Get your 2013 SIEFs moving, Runcorn, WA7 4QQ
This workshop is essential for business and regulatory managers who pre-registered substances back in 2008 and who have an obligation to register substances by June 2013. This event is for manufacturers or importers of substances in the EU or those who have been appointed as an only representative.
When you pre-registered you would have been put in an electronic Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) and for many substances with a 2013 or 2018 deadline that is where the activity stopped. Nothing has happened since, so what can you do to get things moving?
During this day delegates will find out:
- What the implications are of being in a SIEF
- The actions all SIEF participants need to take
- What we can all learn from the experiences of 2010 registrations
- What you can do to ensure your SIEF starts working now to meet that 2013 deadline
To achieve registration you will need the SIEF to operate efficiently - don't leave your company's compliance issues in the hands of others.

22 February 2012 - REACH and CLP the Basics, Derby DE1 2SQ
This workshop is an excellent place to start for anyone who needs to understand more about their compliance obligations under these regulations.
The REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) Regulation is fundamentally changing the shape of every supply chain within the EU. REACH affects all chemical substances that you manufacture, import or use to make your products and to run your processes.
If you need to know more about REACH then the chances are that you will also be affected by the new EU Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP). So in the afternoon we will provide attendees with an overview of what this could mean for your business.
And as if that’s not enough, EU Safety Data Sheets are changing too. We will close the day with an outline of the changes to this aspect of communicating hazard and risk management information within the supply chain.

29 February 2012 - Updating your REACH registration dossier, London, SW1P 3JJ
As a manufacturer or importer submitting your first registration was a significant step towards REACH compliance. When you registered the IUCLID dossier you submitted provided ECHA with a snapshot of your business with your substance. One year on: do you need to update your dossier?
There are a whole host of reasons which could drive you to update your dossier - perhaps you have new uses to be included in your Chemical Safety Report. Maybe you have been asked by ECHA to provide more information, or you know you need to improve the quality of the dossier you submitted. Or perhaps you registered your substance as an intermediate under strictly controlled conditions but need to upgrade your dossier to that of a standard registration.
This workshop will explore the requirements for dossier upgrades and updates and give you a practical insight into meeting your obligations.

6 March 2012 - Managing REACH: How compliant are you? Manchester M90 3RA
REACH has now been with us for four years and in that time chemical manufacturers, importers and users of chemicals have been working through the (still) complex and confusing detail of REACH, often delegating responsibility for doing so to the HSE or regulatory team – or hard-pressed individual!
But, costly mistakes are known to have been made, so:
- how do you check that your own company is doing the right thing?
- how do you minimise the risk of a REACH-related supply chain failure to your business?
- what can you do if something goes wrong?
This day is aimed at business managers working in the chemical and chemical using sectors and will outline the key compliance measures that you should be taking in your own business – and important assurance checks to make of your suppliers.
This is an excellent place to start if you are considering carrying out your own REACH audit, or commissioning one by a consultant.
There is a discount for bookings made on or before 3 February. Click here for Full details and the Booking Form.
